I've always liked taking pictures and filming whether I'm using good equipment or not. It's just enjoyable to me. However, when I use good equipment, it makes everything that much better. Well, Canon's new full frame SLR has both. It's first purpose is to be a digital SLR but from the videos I've been seeing, it's producing some really awesome looking high definition footage. I'm not going to even try to paraphrase all the awesome things about the fact that this camera can film in high definition. Just check these links or google it for yourself.
P.S. This is related to BMX in LOUISIANA in the sense that I'm trying to figure out what I can sell to purchase this camera and take BMX pictures or film BMX videos in LOUISIANA so there you go.
My family doesn't do Thanksgiving til tomorrow so I'm going ride. Here is a video of the 9th street trail jam and of BR's Nano Roache. :p Both done by Mr. Brock Gomez.
Just in case you somehow haven't seen this yet, here it the link. http://bmx.transworld.net/2008/11/22/nike-60-video-garrett-reynolds-full-part/
I feel bad for other pros trying to film video parts after this one. BTW, I know this isn't la bmx related but it's probably the wildest video part I've seen since... well since Garrett's shook part below.
Cody Miller went ahead and loaded all the sections of Young Guns 2 onto Vimeo. Go check em out!! I felllike some of that footy is 3 years old and everyone still kills it!
Also, thanks to everyone that came out and for the contest. It was a shit ton of fun and Brock kept the crowd stoked the whole time.(skate contest was yesterday and had twice as many people was not nearly as entertaining or rowdy) Some highlights include shaodw doing a million perfect things he didnt even do in practice, 180 the box, hangover tooth down the rail,540s, perfect 180 barspins on the bank. kid killed it! Josh "crim" Tibbs busted out some SICK box jump manuveurs like truckdrivers, supermans, suicide no handers stretched as fuck, and also a barspin to wall tap and a walltap to barspin. Lonewolf McQuede or Doug, did is usual shredding and actually didnt get hurt before the contest! tailwhip the box backwards, backflip the box, and backflip from the landing to bank, air bars, fuf on the BIG sub, and a FOOTJAM on it! flairs were all in dougs trick after trick run. Tyler Sparr came in second with hot moves like air bars, air whips, 360 whips, a downside hip from the mini to the 6ft which right before he told me he couldnt downside whip, YEAH RIGHT, fuf the big sub, and double tire ride it, and i 360 double whip over a box that trick shouldnt be done on. And finally, Broc took home first with style, boosting ability, and a trick list that went like this: turndowns on the box then lookback the quarter, air tuck no handers 6ft out, 360 tables, 360whip, 360 nohander which he learned in the middle of his run, downside whip disaster, air whips, and some Trey Jones E.T.s! Everyone killed including beginners, and intermediates. watch out for Gary and Nano, they killed it and gary broke his arm the only time he was there before and Nano showed up 10 seconds before his run! ANyways, here are the results and thanks for coming out!
The contest was absolutely insane. The craziest thing that happened at the contest has to be Jason St. Romain clothes-lining himself on a 14 ft. tall ceiling rafter and falling straight to the flat cold concrete. It was seriously the craziest fall I've ever seen in my life. Jason St. Romain must be a cat because he totally lost 1 if not 2 of his 9 lives. 2 because he ate shit really good right before he clothes-lined himself. What's even wilder is that he got up and walked away... somehow. Seriously, if you weren't there, wait till you see the footage of it. Check the pictures below that Anthony Lizana took (thanks Anthony!).
Jason St. Romain hitting the rafter
Jason St. Romain after he hit the concrete... so crazy. thank god he was okay.
Crim with a superman
Crim with a suicide no-hander
Victor Boutte with a backflip
Andrew Sanford with an icepick on the vertwall
Andrew Sanford with a barspin
Gettin' Bigger Broc with a tucknohander. This quarter is pretty quick so these things are even more legit.
Broc airing out of the 14 ft. vertwall
Shadow getting pretty high out of the quarter even though he doesn't have a park to ride anymore
Shadow 180 the spox perfectly
Tyler Sparr conquering the wall/sub with a fufanu
Doug Morrison with a tailwhip into the bank after doing a quick barspin out of the bank and then footjamming the quarter.

Also, Famous Stars and Straps/Monster Energy Drinks may or may not be doing a BMX demo at Skatespot in Lafayette, LA this december...
It's 12 minutes long with some riding thrown in between the interview. The last 3 minutes after the credits consist of ghost riding Thomas' bike on different ramps at ramp age. Pretty funny.
Apparently Hungary is like the European version of Woodward because everyone there rides like they're in Dew Tour. It looks like Danny finally got some big boy bars... trend whore! Lafayette BMX Society Represent!!!
YO DUDES, It's been a crazy two weeks fr me down here in NOLA and I have a lot of pictures to post and other random shit but im too tired to do all that. I just wanted to post this video Broc and I made that i got done editing about 45 seconds ago. We filmed it last tuesday and today so its not the most killer moves but pretty good for 2 days! AND we need to save the good stuff for the tbcvideo! :) hope you dudes like it and SHRED ON, SHREDDERSSS!!!
ps. Broc and I just got back from BACO in Florida and ill post some stuff on that later about what we did but for now go check out RIDEBMX.COM to see Broc and everyone killing it!! DONT FORGET ABOUT THE CONTEST!!!!
I posted a while back that I would have pictures of the park that was just built in Nantucket because the same company is building the Lafayette bowl. Seth Johnson with Ideal Skateparks forgot to send me the pictures for the park he just built but I called him today and he sent me a link to a shitload of pictures. A few are below but if you want to see all of them, click the link. The stocky bald guy in the blue shirt and the beard is from Lafayette (lives in Austin now) and he just finished changing a bunch of stuff at Skatespot. He'll be heading up the concrete park in Lafayette also.
Danny's not coming back to LA anytime soon (as far as I know) but it looks like he's been shredding Europe from the pictures up on his myspace. I stole a picture of Mr. Cody Miller from his own myspace also.
