I am in town for the holidays and living it up out here with the family and friends. Even though I can't ride (torn ACL and meniscus, waiting for surgery on February 15th), I met up with Andrew and Broc at Ramp Age and put together a quick edit. They would have shredded more, but my battery ran out and I forgot my charger at home...sorry duder. Both of these dudes are on TBC so check out that site and pick up a sweet new shirt.
So here are some updatez. First of all, I finished the laffy taffy street skeet video. Unless I already talked to you, all of the ones I have are sold but Rukus, Politics, and Capital Cyclery of Lafayette are carrying them so hit it up. They should be anywhere from $3 to $5 depending on where you go.
There was this christian festival downtown recently and they had a BMX demo that was pretty dope and we got to ride the ramps. Here are some pictures.
Ryan Raiford took a second to let me know a little about what's going on with Ramp Age Ramp Parke (formerly Fastlane). They are going to be open the same hours for now. Thursday 3-10 (bike night), Friday 3-10, Saturday 11-10, and Sunday 12-6. The phone number is still the same at the moment but will be changed sometime next week. They have already done a lot of cleaning up and are planning on having a stocked shop up and running sometime soon. Be on the lookout for a grand opening party once everything is up and running smoothly.
(I googled "fastlane skatepark" and this video popped up. I know it's not BMX but the song is too good to pass up.)
Also, there is a premier for [sic] Media Production's new video, "Nobody Special" tonight a Dirt Road Bicycles. The video starts at 7:30 but you can show up early to ride around in the parking lot. Red Bull will be on hand giving out free caffeine and there will be various competitions based on BMX trickery. We will have videos for sale at $15 a pop so bring some loot.
For those of you out there in the New Orleans area, good news comes your way. Fastlane skatepark has been purchased by Ryan Raiford (Little Broc's dad). Now you can go and session the re-named Rampage Ramp Park starting this Thursday, their first bike night. You can call (504) 915-4313 for more information.
I know Ryan and company have some changes planned for the park so be on the lookout for that. Long live the New Orleans scene!
Here's a little video I made over the summer of LITTLE BROC riding his backyard in Destrehan, LA. I guess he's got a nicer place to ride now...
As promised, the premier for [SIC] Media's "Nobody Special" will be held this Friday, December 7th at Dirt Road Bicycles on Jones Creek Road. The premier will start at 7:30 and there is rumor of a bunnyhop and foot-down competition. So start practicing.
If you need to find out how to get to Dirt Road check their website: www.dirtroadbicycles.com for info.
You can check out the [SIC] site by clicking HERE. There are 2 previews for the video on the main page as well as plenty of other little web-edits.
Here's another new website for all you guys to check out. [SIC] MEDIA PRODUCTIONS is now online with lots of content for you to enjoy. Check out various web-edits or peep the news section to find out what's been happening all over the South.
You should also look into picking up a copy of [SIC]'s first full-length video, "Nobody Special". It features riders from all over the South and has some pretty wild stuff in there. Louisiana is represented by none other than Jon Rogers of TBC PARTY. There is going to be a premier for the vid in Baton Rouge sometime in the near future so keep you eyes open for that one.
Weather permitting we've been working on the ramp at Paul's house more this week. We got a small section plyed and removed some trees to make room for the bowled part which is next on the agenda.
There's bamboo everywhere so i figured to make like a Panda and climb a tree?
This is gonna be one gigantic bowl with 13' of flatbottom. Next update i'm hoping we'll have some of the corners coming along. Later!!!!!!
